THE ARTIST
Lisa Jayne Porter is a British Cypriot artist. Lisa is currently based in Tucson, Arizona with her family.
Her love for the arts has been a lifetime affair. Lisa has been involved in all aspects of the arts since a little girl. She grew up performing alongside studying at school. Lisa started her career as a singer, songerwriter, dancer and actor. Performing internationally on Stage, TV and Radio. Under her-then- family name 'Lisa Andreas'. BBC, Sky News, ITV, CYBC, RIK and several other international TV stations. Lisa also performed live as a Musical Theatre artist in London's West End, in theatres including The Prince of Wales, and dance performances in Her Majesty's Theatre.
Lisa completed her Bachelor of Arts in Voice and Musical Theatre at the prestigious Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, Greenwich, England. Her time at university gave her a deeper understanding for devising and directing original work in both music, theatre and visual art. Lisa went on to devise an original musical with a company formed from members of her graduating year - that went on to have a sell out run in upon opening.
Lisa followed her heart in 2014 and moved from the UK to the US to be with her fiancé - now husband and that's when she had a chance to discover her passion for painting.
Lisa continued to perform and write as she started a family in the States, at that point painting was just for her. It wasn't until the pandemic - with the world of live performance shut down - that she decided to pick up her brushes to feed her creative soul. She finished off a piece that she had tucked away. The piece was called 'OVERTHINKER', Lisa shared it on social media and the response was explosive. There was huge buzz for the piece and it sold instantly. That piece catapulted the start of her painting career. Lisa was then commissioned for several original custom artworks and it hasn't stopped since.
Lisa is a mixed media artist, specialising in acrylic, acrylic pour and resin. Her collections include abstract, ocean art, women, faces, and pop art. Lisa truly believes that art has the ability to change to world for the better. Lisa puts a huge focus on the energy that a piece should have, and this is reflected in her use of colours and mediums.
